When Redundancy Hits Hard — What Happens Inside You Matters Most

When Redundancy Hits Hard — What Happens…

When redundancy hits, your body reacts before your mind does.

It goes into defence mode — fight, flight, freeze.
Overwhelm, rejection, loss, uncertainty.
Even if you expected it, it still hits hard.

And then the thoughts begin to spiral:

  • “I wasn’t valued.”
    • “My boss had favourites.”
    • “I’m too old to get another good job.”
    • “Maybe I should go out on my own… but I’m not confident enough.”

These thoughts feel true but they’re not you.
They are the brain responding to a nervous system in threat.

When your body is in defence, your brain powers down the exact functions you need most:
strategic thinking, emotional regulation, intuition, creativity, logic.
This is why making decisions about your future feels so hard.
It’s not a lack of capability — it’s physiology.

The Way Forward Starts in the Body

To create your next chapter whether a new job or your own business
you must shift out of defence and into safety first.

Most of us accept without realising being in defence as “normal.”
We stay tense, braced, overthinking, worrying
because we’ve never learned how to tone and strengthen the nervous system
so it can move out of survival efficiently.

I know this first-hand.
I retrained my vagus nerve.
I strengthened my nervous system.
And everything in my life shifted:
my clarity, my confidence, my decision-making, my creativity.
I transformed not just by thinking differently,
but by teaching my body to feel safe again.

This is why the Ayla Approach always begins with the body:

Body first → Brain follows → Performance rises.

How I Support People Through This Transition

Through Ayla Life Performance, I help people:
• rebuild confidence after redundancy
• regulate their nervous system under stress
• rewire old “I am” survival stories
• prepare for interviews with clarity + grounded presence
• create new opportunities with logic and intuition
• transition into entrepreneurship or leadership with emotional stability

Reflection for You:

Is your next step being shaped by your capability or by a nervous system still stuck in defence?

If you want to shift out of survival and build the inner stability for your next move,

message me “Interested” and I’ll send you some Ayla neural exercises
you can start today to strengthen your system and step forward with confidence.
