so that you don't make this mistake.

Most managers don’t know they’re breaking the law.

Because discrimination doesn’t always look how you think it will.

It’s not about shouting abuse or writing biased policies.

It’s about the everyday decisions you make that;

quietly exclude,

sideline,

or disadvantage someone,

without you realising the legal weight behind them.

Sure, you don’t mean to discriminate.

But the law doesn’t care about your intentions.

It cares about the impact on the person affected.

And that impact often comes from:

→ Asking “will you cope with the hours?” but only asking the new parent

→ Choosing the “safe pair of hands” without realising the younger lad was never given the same development opportunity

→ Skipping the wellbeing check-in with the man who started showing signs of burnout—because “he’ll fine, he's a bloke”

⚠️ Every one of these could be argued as discrimination

on the grounds of sex,

age,

disability,

or even perceived bias.

And when the claim lands?

It won’t matter that you were “trying to do the right thing.”

It will matter that you didn’t follow process, didn’t ask for advice, and didn’t keep records.

Here's what I want you to do right now;

Record every tricky conversation - especially about health or performance.

Don’t guess the law.
It's not as obvious as you'd think.

➌ Question your decisions critically -
run it through our Gender Equity Diagnostic (G.E.D) programe.

I didn’t spend all that money and time just for fun

I did it so that good employers can protect themselves and promote true gender equity.
